We wrote these terms in plain English on purpose. If something is unclear, email us at [email protected] and we will explain it.
1. What StatusForge Is
StatusForge is operated by Arctic Labs LLC, an Ohio limited liability company. StatusForge is the first-person record for AI. We help you publish a structured professional profile—based entirely on information you provide, in your own words—and make it discoverable by AI systems, search engines, and other automated information services.
We also calculate an AI Coverage Index (ranging from 0 to 850) that reflects the completeness, consistency, and discoverability of your professional identity across AI systems. This index is informational. It is not a credit score and has no effect on your creditworthiness, employment eligibility, or any financial product.
What we can honestly tell you: We publish your profile in formats that AI systems use to learn about people. We cannot control whether or how any AI system indexes, processes, or presents that information. We will never promise specific results because that would not be honest.
2. Who Can Use StatusForge
You must be at least 18 years old to use StatusForge. By creating an account or submitting information, you confirm that you are 18 or older.
StatusForge is currently available to users in the United States. We plan to expand internationally and are actively working toward compliance with international data protection laws including GDPR. Until then, users outside the US may browse the site but should be aware that data submitted will be stored and processed in the United States under U.S. law.
3. What You Get
When you sign up, StatusForge:
- Creates a structured professional profile based on the information you provide.
- Publishes that profile on web pages operated by StatusForge, formatted for discovery by AI systems, search engines, and other automated services.
- Distributes your information through multiple channels, including structured data formats and third-party platform integrations.
- Calculates and maintains your AI Coverage Index.
- May adopt additional distribution methods as technology evolves.
The depth of your profile and the breadth of distribution depend on which plan you choose (see Section 4). All profiles—including free profiles—are published and discoverable. Paid plans unlock deeper profiles and wider distribution.
4. Plans and Pricing
StatusForge offers several ways to participate:
- Free tier: A basic professional profile is published and made discoverable at no cost. Free profiles are retained unless you request deletion.
- Pro Monthly ($12/month): A comprehensive deep profile with ongoing AI-powered conversations that build your professional identity over time. Includes inbound connection requests and earnings. Cancel anytime; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- Pro Annual ($99/year): Same as Pro Monthly, billed annually at a reduced rate.
Prices are in US dollars. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days’ notice. Price changes do not affect payments already made or active subscription periods already paid for.
5. Payments and Refunds
All payments are processed securely through Stripe. We do not store your credit card information.
Subscriptions: You may cancel your subscription at any time through your dashboard or by emailing [email protected]. Cancellation stops future charges but does not generate a refund for the current billing period. We do not issue partial-period refunds.
Exceptions: If we fail to deliver the core service (publishing your profile), or if a charge was made in error, contact us at [email protected] and we will make it right. We believe in treating people fairly.
6. No Guaranteed Outcomes
StatusForge does not guarantee any specific outcome. Here is what that means in plain terms:
- AI systems are built and controlled by other companies. We have no control over how they process publicly available information.
- We publish and distribute your profile, but whether any particular AI system picks it up is not something we can guarantee.
- Even when your information is incorporated by an AI system, the real-world impact is uncertain.
- We do not directly modify, retrain, or alter any third-party AI system.
- We do not fabricate credentials, achievements, or endorsements. We amplify what you provide.
- We do not guarantee any specific career, business, or personal outcome.
We are honest about this because you deserve to make an informed decision.
7. Your Content — What You Promise Us
You are responsible for everything you submit. By using StatusForge, you promise that:
- All information you provide is truthful and accurate to the best of your knowledge.
- You are not submitting false statements about any person or organization.
- You will not use this service to defame, harass, or make false claims about anyone.
- You have the right to submit the information you provide.
- Your use of this service does not violate any law.
We screen submitted content and reserve the right to reject, edit, or remove anything that references others negatively, contains unverifiable claims, or could expose anyone to harm.
8. Data Licensing — Please Read This Carefully
This section explains how your professional information may be shared beyond your individual profile page. We want you to understand exactly what you are agreeing to.
What you are consenting to: By submitting content to StatusForge, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to use, publish, distribute, and sublicense your self-reported professional information — subject at all times to the visibility setting you have chosen for each field. The license is revocable: changing a field’s visibility to private, or deleting your account, terminates the license for that field or for all fields, respectively. The license includes the right to:
- Publish your profile on StatusForge web pages, optimized for AI and search engine discovery.
- Distribute your information through structured data formats and third-party integrations.
- Include your professional information in datasets that may be licensed to AI companies, technology companies, research organizations, and similar partners.
- Make your information available through our B2B API so that authorized partners can query professional identity data.
Visibility settings (what controls the license): Pro members complete a deep intake that lets them set a visibility level for each field individually — public, verified-partners only, or private. Free members publish at the public visibility level for all fields by default; you can request a different visibility level for any field by emailing [email protected], and we will update it within 15 business days. We honor visibility settings on every API response, every data export, and every partner agreement.
What we promise in return:
- Your information is shared exactly as you provided it — never fabricated, supplemented, or misrepresented.
- We will never sell your data for advertising or marketing purposes.
- We will never fabricate or misrepresent your information.
- Data licensing exists to improve how AI systems represent professionals—including you.
Micro-royalties: When your professional data is queried through our B2B API by authorized partners, you may earn micro-royalties. The availability, rates, and terms of micro-royalties are set by StatusForge and may change. Micro-royalties are a benefit we offer, not a guaranteed right. We will display any earnings on your dashboard.
You can request deletion of your data from our systems at any time (see Section 14). However, data that has already been distributed to or indexed by third parties cannot be fully recalled.
9. The B2B API
StatusForge operates an API that allows authorized business partners—including AI companies and technology platforms—to query our professional identity dataset. Here is what you should know:
- Partners access aggregated or individual professional identity data through this API.
- All data served through the API is based on information users voluntarily submitted.
- We vet API partners and require them to use the data responsibly.
- Information served through the API is always exactly what you provided — never embellished, never invented.
- You consented to this use when you agreed to these terms and the data licensing consent at signup.
9b. Security, Data Handling, and Operational Commitments
Data storage and geographic location: Your data is stored on infrastructure operated by Supabase and Vercel, both of which run in data centers located in the United States. We do not currently transfer your personal information outside the United States. If we ever change this, we will update this section and notify active users.
Encryption: All data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS and encrypted at rest by our database provider. Payment card details are handled exclusively by Stripe and never reach StatusForge servers.
Internal access: Access to user records by StatusForge personnel is limited to those who need it to operate the service or fulfill a user request. We do not browse user profiles for any other reason. We will publish the names of any individuals with administrative database access in the annual transparency report.
Breach notification: If we discover that user data has been accessed by an unauthorized party, we will notify affected users without unreasonable delay and in any case within 30 days of confirming the incident. The notification will include what was accessed, when it happened, what we have done to contain it, and what you can do to protect yourself. We will also publish the incident on the public transparency page within 7 days, as required by our Trust Pledge.
Government, law enforcement, and legal requests: We will only disclose user information in response to a lawful request (subpoena, court order, search warrant, or similar legal process) that we have reviewed and determined is valid. Where the law permits, we will give the affected user notice and a reasonable opportunity to challenge the request before we comply. Voluntary cooperation with law enforcement absent legal process is not permitted by these terms.
Right of publicity: When you submit your professional information to StatusForge, you consent to having that information published, indexed by search engines, made available through our B2B API, and read by AI systems. You acknowledge that this means your name, role, and other published details will appear in third-party AI outputs and search results. You retain all other right-of-publicity claims, but you waive any claim against StatusForge based on the publication and distribution that you specifically consented to here. If you do not want your name and professional details published in this way, do not submit content to StatusForge.
Children: StatusForge is not for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we discover that a user is under 18, we will delete their account and all associated data within 15 business days and notify any partners that may have queried that data. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has submitted information to StatusForge, email [email protected] and we will act immediately.
10. Creator and Affiliate Program
StatusForge offers a creator program that lets you earn commissions by referring new users.
How it works: You get a unique referral link. When someone signs up through your link, the referrer relationship is permanently recorded on their user record at signup — not in a cookie. This means attribution survives for the entire life of the referred user’s account. When that user makes a qualifying payment, you earn a commission. Commission rates are set by StatusForge, may vary by payment amount, and are displayed on your creator dashboard at the time of each referral.
Payout terms:
- Earned commissions on non-fraudulent sales are paid within 30 days of the end of each calendar month.
- Commissions may only be withheld for three reasons: (1) verified fraud, (2) abuse of the referral system, or (3) a chargeback by the referred customer.
- If we withhold a commission, we will tell you in writing within 7 days, with the specific reason.
- You can dispute any commission denial by emailing [email protected]. We will review and respond within 14 days.
Rate changes and program termination:
- Commission rates may be changed with 30 days’ notice. Previously earned commissions are never reduced.
- The creator program may be discontinued with 30 days’ notice. All earned commissions will be paid out upon termination.
What creators do not get: Creators have no ownership interest, equity, revenue share, intellectual property rights, data rights, or any other claim to StatusForge, its technology, user data, or business relationships. The creator program is a partnership offered in good faith, not an employment or ownership arrangement.
Non-transferable: Referral links, affiliate accounts, and commission balances are personal to you. They cannot be sold, traded, transferred, or assigned. Attempting to transfer an account will result in termination of that account and forfeiture of unpaid commissions.
No data access: Creators have no right to access, export, license, or claim ownership over any user data, whether from their referrals or otherwise. All user data is governed by our Privacy Policy.
FTC disclosure requirement: By participating in the creator program, you agree to comply with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s Endorsement Guides (16 CFR Part 255). You must clearly and conspicuously disclose your material connection with StatusForge in every post, video, story, or message that promotes the service using your referral link. Failure to disclose may result in withholding of commissions for non-compliant promotions. See /creators for specific disclosure guidance.
11. Published Content and Profile Pages
StatusForge publishes structured profile pages about you on web properties we operate. These pages are designed to be discoverable by search engines and AI systems. By using the service, you consent to this publication.
Profile pages include structured data (such as Schema.org markup) that helps AI systems and search engines understand your professional identity. All content on your profile page is derived from information you provided.
You may request removal of your published profile at any time. We will remove it from properties we control within a reasonable timeframe. Content that has been indexed or cached by third-party systems may persist beyond our control—that is how the internet works, and we want you to understand this before you publish.
12. Third-Party Platforms
StatusForge uses third-party platforms and services to distribute your information. These platforms are not controlled by us and may change their terms, availability, or functionality at any time. We cannot guarantee continued access to any specific platform.
Once information is distributed through third-party channels, it is subject to those platforms’ terms and may not be fully recallable. You acknowledge and accept this.
13. Prohibited Uses
Do not use StatusForge to:
- Submit false, misleading, or defamatory information.
- Impersonate another person.
- Submit content designed to harm, harass, or disparage anyone.
- Violate any applicable law.
- Game, exploit, or abuse the referral or creator program.
- Use automated tools to create fake accounts or submit spam.
If we determine you have violated these rules, we may suspend or terminate your account, remove your content, and forfeit any unpaid commissions. We will tell you why.
14. Your Privacy Rights
Your privacy matters to us. Here is a summary of your rights (our full Privacy Policy has more detail):
- Access: You can request a copy of all personal information we hold about you.
- Correction: You can ask us to fix inaccurate information.
- Deletion: You can request deletion of your account and all data we store. We will process deletion requests within 15 business days.
- Profile removal: You can ask us to take down your published profile page from our properties.
- Withdraw consent: You can withdraw consent for future data processing at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will respond within 15 business days.
Important limitation: Data that has already been distributed to third parties, indexed by search engines, or incorporated into third-party AI systems cannot be fully recalled. This is a fundamental characteristic of the service that you should understand before participating.
15. Data Retention and Sunset Policies
Free tier: Free profiles are retained for as long as your account exists, with no scheduled deletion. We retain them because keeping your information discoverable by AI systems is the core service we provide. You can request deletion at any time and we will honor it within 15 business days.
Pro tier sunset choices: Pro users explicitly choose how long their profile remains active when they complete the deep intake. The available choices are:
- 1 year — auto-deleted if not refreshed within 12 months of last activity.
- 3 years — auto-deleted if not refreshed within 36 months of last activity.
- Indefinite — retained until you request deletion.
- Legacy mode — preserved as a permanent professional record, including after the user’s death.
For any sunset choice, we send reminder emails 30, 7, and 1 day(s) before auto-deletion would occur, giving you the chance to refresh and keep the profile active. Auto-deletion is real deletion, not a hidden flag.
16. Service Changes
StatusForge’s methods, features, and technology may evolve over time. We commit to:
- Continuing to operate the core service (professional profile publication and distribution).
- Using commercially reasonable and evolving methods to distribute your information.
- Notifying you of material changes to our methods or these terms.
17. API Access and Data Licensing (B2B Partners)
Businesses that access StatusForge data through our API agree to the following:
- No automated high-risk decisions: You may not use StatusForge data as the sole or primary basis for automated decisions about hiring, lending, insurance, housing, healthcare, education, or any other consequential decision about an individual. Our data is informational — it exists to inform humans, not to replace human judgment.
- Honor deletion notifications: When we send a deletion notification via webhook, you must purge all cached data for that user within 72 hours. Failure to honor deletion notifications is grounds for immediate access revocation.
- Respect per-field consent: Data is delivered to you with the consent settings the user chose. You may not attempt to infer, reconstruct, or obtain fields the user marked as private.
- No resale: You may not resell, sublicense, or redistribute StatusForge data to third parties without written authorization.
- Attribution: When presenting data sourced from StatusForge to end users, you must identify the source as “self-reported via StatusForge” or equivalent language.
- Compliance: You are responsible for your own compliance with applicable laws (CCPA, GDPR, AI Act, etc.) when using data obtained from our API.
Violation of any of these terms will result in immediate API access revocation. StatusForge reserves the right to audit partner usage and request compliance certifications.
18. Indemnification
In plain terms: if you submit content that gets us into legal trouble, you agree to cover our costs. Specifically, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless StatusForge, its operators, officers, employees, and affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses (including attorneys’ fees) arising from: (a) content you submit, (b) your use of the service, (c) your breach of these terms, or (d) any third-party claim related to content you submitted.
19. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” WE MAKE NO WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL PRODUCE ANY SPECIFIC RESULT.
In plain terms: we provide the service as described and do our best, but we cannot guarantee that everything will work perfectly at all times.
20. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, STATUSFORGE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO STATUSFORGE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
In plain terms: if something goes wrong, the most we would owe you is what you paid us in the past year. We are a small company and cannot accept unlimited liability.
Free tier specifically: If you have only used the free tier and have never paid us anything, the cap above is $0. This is a real limit, not a clever trick — we are disclosing it explicitly so you can make an informed decision before relying on the service.
21. Dispute Resolution — Mandatory Arbitration
Please read this section carefully. It affects your legal rights.
Any dispute between you and StatusForge will be resolved through binding individual arbitration, administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. Arbitration will take place in the State of Ohio.
What this means: Instead of going to court, disputes are decided by a neutral arbitrator. This is faster and less expensive than litigation for both sides.
Class action waiver: You agree that any dispute will be resolved individually, not as part of a class action, consolidated action, or representative action.
Small claims exception: Either party may bring an individual action in small claims court if the claim qualifies.
30-day opt-out: If you do not want to be bound by this arbitration clause, you may opt out by emailing [email protected] within 30 days of first using StatusForge. Your opt-out must include your name and a clear statement that you are opting out of arbitration. If you opt out, disputes will be resolved in state or federal courts in Ohio.
22. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio and applicable federal laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
23. Visual Elements
The neural network visualization and other visual elements on the website are design features. They represent the professional identity dataset conceptually and do not indicate service quality, performance, or any guaranteed result.
24. Severability
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable by a court or arbitrator, the rest of the terms remain in full effect. The unenforceable provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable.
25. Entire Agreement
These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and StatusForge. They replace any prior agreements or understandings.
26. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page and, where possible, notify you via email or through the service. Continued use of StatusForge after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
If you disagree with a change, your remedy is to stop using the service and request deletion of your data.
26b. Copyright Infringement (DMCA)
StatusForge respects intellectual property rights. If you believe content on StatusForge infringes your copyright, please send a takedown notice that includes:
- A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
- The exact URL on StatusForge where the infringing content appears.
- Your contact information (name, address, telephone, email).
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized.
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or are authorized to act on the owner’s behalf.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
Send the notice to [email protected] with the subject line “DMCA Notice”. We will investigate every notice we receive and respond promptly.
Counter-notices follow the standard DMCA process. We reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to terminate the account of any user who is the subject of repeated, valid copyright complaints.
